dc.description
This work evaluated the impacts of the Norte Sul Railway (FNS) on the territorial development of Tocantins in the period 2002-2017. It has produced a typology of municipalities, dividing them between those in the direct influence area of the railway, those that host intermodal terminals, the largest soy producers and the others. Growth data for the different groups were compared, as well as the installation of companies in the vicinity of the transfer terminals. It was concluded that, unlike expectations, the impacts in terms of dynamism and attraction of investments in the railroad corridor were very limited, focusing basically on the growth of soy producing municipalities
